LA LOTUS Foundation Condemns Attack on Hindu Temple in Richmond Heights, Ohio
October 3, 2026 | Los Angeles, California
LA LOTUS Foundation strongly condemns the attack on Shree Swaminarayan Vadtal Dham Hindu Mandir in Richmond Heights, Ohio, where bricks were reportedly thrown at the temple, shattering windows while priests and devotees were inside.
A place of worship should be a place of peace, prayer and refuge. No Hindu should have to wonder whether entering a mandir to pray places them at risk of intimidation or violence.
This incident is especially troubling as Hindu communities across the United States observe Hindu Heritage Month and prepare for Navratri, a sacred celebration honoring Shakti, the Divine Feminine.
We urge law-enforcement authorities to investigate this incident thoroughly and expeditiously, identify those responsible, and determine whether religious or identity-based hatred played any role in the attack.
At this stage, the motive has not been publicly established. That determination belongs to the evidence and the investigation. But uncertainty about motive should never translate into silence about an attack on a religious institution.
Attacks against Hindu temples and sacred spaces deserve the same seriousness, public attention and institutional response afforded to attacks against any other place of worship.
LA LOTUS Foundation stands in solidarity with the priests, devotees and the entire Shree Swaminarayan Vadtal Dham community.
We reaffirm a simple principle:
Hindus have the right to worship without fear. Hindu temples have the right to exist without intimidation. And attacks on sacred spaces must never become normalized.
