Building a better Los Angeles, together

LA LOTUS was founded on a simple belief: Los Angeles deserves a politics that brings people together rather than drives them apart.

As one of the most diverse and dynamic cities in the world, Los Angeles is home to countless communities, cultures, professions, and perspectives. Yet too often, public discourse has become dominated by division, polarization, and narratives that encourage people to speak past one another instead of working together.

We saw a growing need for an organization that would focus on civic engagement, community education, candidate accessibility, and open dialogue. We believed voters deserved more opportunities to meet candidates, ask questions, compare ideas, and participate meaningfully in the democratic process beyond election day.

Inspired by the lotus flower, which rises from challenging conditions to bloom, LA LOTUS was created to cultivate leadership, expand opportunity, strengthen transparency, foster unity, and advance practical solutions for Los Angeles.

We believe every election matters, from school board and city council races to county, state, and federal offices. The decisions made by elected leaders affect every neighborhood, every family, and every community.

Our mission is not to tell people what to think. Our mission is to create opportunities for people to engage, learn, participate, and make informed decisions for themselves. We believe democracy is strongest when citizens are educated, involved, and empowered.

Today, LA LOTUS continues to grow as a coalition of community organizations, small business owners, civic leaders, educators, advocates, and residents who share a commitment to building a stronger Los Angeles through leadership, opportunity, transparency, unity, and solutions.
