The purpose
Why we are bringing this conversation to Los Angeles
The purpose of this conclave is to challenge incomplete and misleading narratives about India that circulate internationally. We will examine claims through research, direct questions and the experiences of people whose lives are often described by others.
The program will address India’s achievements and opportunities while allowing honest discussion of discrimination and problems that remain.

Day 1 Evening · Signature Cultural Production
Stories of India
One Nation. Many Stories.
A two-hour original cultural production in which India’s states and regions do more than perform their traditional dances.
Each presentation tells a story.
Through narration, theatre, music, visual storytelling, costume, history and dance, participating communities will introduce audiences to the civilizations, people, traditions, achievements and journeys that shaped their state or region.
This is not intended to be a conventional cultural showcase where each state simply performs a folk dance. Dance and music become part of a larger story.
Approximately 8–12 curated state or regional stories may form the production.
Day 2
India and the World
Breakfast & Networking. The second day continues the intellectual and leadership program while progressively bringing together national and international voices.

Program Flexibility
Built to Adapt
India Beyond the Label is intentionally being designed as a flexible platform.
If the participation of a head of government or other high-level protected dignitary requires substantial changes to scheduling, venue access, security or programming, individual sessions may be moved, shortened, rescheduled or replaced.
The Conclave organizers will endeavor to preserve the complete two-day Conclave experience while accommodating such exceptional programming.
